A Step Above

Hello Friends!

I am often asked the question of what makes us different from a hotel, and today I would like to share with you my thoughts on what makes us a step above a conventional hotel stay. Actually, we strive to be more than just one step above. When you stay at the historic Inns at 8th & Main, you stay at a luxury bed and breakfast where everything we do is intentional.

First of all, let me say that if you are just looking for a place to lay your head and a quick in and out stay, then we are, for sure, not that place. However, if you are looking for an experience, and a place to enjoy for a few days, then we are sure you will find our luxury accommodations and homestyle cooking right for you.

What sets us apart is that Dan and I, along with our dog, Henry live at the Stone House and we are here to help make sure that your stay is enjoyable and that your needs are well attended to. We act as your personal concierge service. If you are new to the area, we can surely recommend attractions and things to do to enhance your stay.

Another thing that we pride ourselves in is our morning breakfasts. Whether you choose an in-room basket or a full homestyle breakfast served in our historic dining room, you will not walk away hungry. Our hearty breakfasts served in the historic dining room are generous in portion and include one of two main course options - one sweet and one savory. We plan our breakfast menu daily with local farm-fresh eggs, locally sourced meats, and produce. In fact, you may just need a morning nap to recover from all the culinary goodness.

We also have amenities galore in each and every room. This starts with our Turkish towels and very own white label bath scents. Guests will find water and snacks upon arrival along with an individual coffee maker with fine coffee by Tayst Coffee. There's more water in the mini-fridge, and Bocca terry robes to wear during your stay with us.

Three very distinct and beautifully appointed rooms are designed to be homey and comfortable, but not stuffy or untouchable. Each room and suite has been renovated and redesigned as a restful escape from every day life. Our design style is eclectic/transitional, but we like to call it Colonial Boho. The Stone House was built in 1835 but its bones are good. It is a home that still begs to be shared and its story told.

Our home is your home, and our town is your town while you are here. Every detail has been specially curated to ensure that you have the finest of bed and breakfast experiences and feel at home.

The next time you are thinking about getting away, come and enjoy the relaxed pace and small-town charm of Morgan County. Come stay with us! After all, we are where history and luxury meet.
