We enjoy interacting with guests and providing recommendations when they visit the Inns at 8th and Main. We want our visitors to have the best possible getaway experience. Daytripping from the Inns to local attractions is a popular activity. McConnelsville is home to shopping, dining, and live entertainment. But if you yearn for adventure a little more off the beaten path, you should pop on some shades, turn on the tunes and enjoy some windshield time as you head out SR 377 to the village of Chesterhill.
Chesterhill is a neighborhood tucked away from mainstream Morgan County, but should not be overlooked. It is a hotbed for African American history, Amish culture, and fresh, seasonal produce. Its scenic, rolling hills and diverse population make it feel like a world away but is really only a 14-mile drive from the Inns.

Morgan County is a destination of choice, and it has a growing reputation as a go-to location for outdoor recreation and small town charm. You don’t have to travel far this summer to experience the Front Porch to the Great Outdoors.
No matter what your pleasure when it comes to the outdoors, Morgan County has you covered. There is over 58,000 acres of recreation land to explore - Jesse Owens State Park and Wildlife (formerly known as AEP ReCreation Land), Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area, Burr Oak State Park, and the Wolf Creek Wildlife Area. These lands offer some of the finest hunting, trapping, fishing, and hiking in the state. Bird watching is also increasingly popular in the area. Many bird species, some rare, are found throughout the unique grassland/brushland landscape. Check out some of the best spots for birdwatching in Morgan County: www.visitmorgancountyohio.weebly.com Happy July my friends! Wow! It’s hard to believe that we're on the tail end of summer. It sure has been hot and swampy here in Southeast Ohio. I hope that you have enjoyed getting out, traveling and seeing your friends and family this summer. Lots of our recent guests have been doing just that.
