Dine Out, Breakfast Inn

We’re living in uncertain times, but the one thing that we know for sure is that we absolutely love being innkeepers. We enjoy watching our guests experience everything that we’ve curated for them here at the Inns at 8th and Main. In my mind, when a new guest arrives, it’s like a Chip and Joanna Gaines reveal moment. The anticipation and excitement that they feel for their clients are like what we feel for our guests upon their arrival. It never gets old. It’s also what keeps Dan and me going.

As most of you know, we own multiple businesses and are extremely busy sometimes - especially poor Dan. Like all businesses, we have seasons, but here at the Inn, we are finding a nice, steady consistency. We are blessed to be busy, and do not take it for granted.  So we have been doing some major thinking, and until we are able to become full-time innkeepers we have to make some changes.

Some things are out of our control, like the inconsistency of food availability and rising costs of just about everything. Unfortunately, it's just the times that we are living in. Nonetheless, we are planning some changes for a variety of reasons, but the real reason really goes back to the humble beginnings of our dream - to provide guests with the best bed and breakfast experience ever!

So with all of this being said, it is with a heavy heart that for now, we will suspend offering luncheons and dinners for our guests along with a few other experience packages.

Doing this really allows us to better manage our daily operations and focus more on our star attraction - breakfast. Do not worry. We will continue to offer our Bring a Guest to Breakfast experience and develop new recipes.

Discontinuing our luncheons and dinners also allows us to support our local restaurants in a bigger way.  With that in mind, let me share with you a few of our newest local restaurants. We’ve had a few open in just the last few months, and we would recommend each of them. Some are within walking distance of the Inns.

Meyer’s Speciality Market & Eatery (Lunch) (Easy Walk)
A great place to pop in for lunch, and our friend Sarah always has an awesome from-scratch lunch special, salads, and while-you-wait paninis. Lunch is served 11-2 daily but boxed sandwiches, wraps, and salads are available in the cold case throughout the day.  We love her pimento cheese panini. It makes the perfect grilled cheese. Make it a box lunch with a bag of Joe’s Sweet Potato Chips and a fresh-baked cookie. And don’t forget the Boylan Root Beer.
Blue Bell Diner (Lunch) (Easy Walk)
The Maxwell family has brought this hometown favorite back to life with fresh decor but kept that nostalgic charm. This iconic restaurant on McConnelsville’s Square has always been what you would expect from a 50’s style diner - friendly faces serving up breakfast and lunch favorites, locals lined along the bar just across from the line cooks, and a noisy, fast-moving atmosphere. Lunch is served from 11 - 3 daily.

Home + Brew by Misdiy (Lunch) (Easy Walk)
With fresh, weekly menus, Misty is sure to have something for you.  Enjoy one of her made in-house, fresh baked goods along with something from her long list of caffeinated or decaf beverages. For lunch, try her new grab-and-go lunches or take in the Main Street sights from the cozy dining space.
Ricardo & Albert’s Italian Kitchen (Dinner) (Easy Walk)
Located inside Old Bridge Brewing Company, it just opened and offers an expansive menu of classic Italian cuisine. We haven’t had time to sample the entire menu, but I enjoyed the mussels while Dan went for the Penne Alla Vodka. And of course, craft beer!

Those are just a few of the new dining options you can check out while staying at the Inns. We always recommend our local favorites, Chatterbox Tavern, Triple Nickel Diner, and the Boondock's for dinner as well. For a full list of where we like to eat, click here, or consult our new welcome book app before and during your stay.

Morgan County has lots of great, independently owned and operated restaurants with more on the way. We hope you will give them a try.

And don’t forget breakfast each morning in the historic dining room at the Stone House. We will continue to do what we are good at in order to provide the best bed and breakfast experience possible. Dan will have the coffee on early, I will curate a morning meal fit for a king, and together we will cook and serve you an unforgettable homestyle breakfast.

We invite you to come stay with us!
