Wow! It’s been a whirlwind around here. Our four-year-old granddaughter has been visiting us from Alabama. She is growing up quickly, and each time she visits we see glimpses of what the older Adeline is starting to look like. Knowing how quickly my boys grew up, with each visit it saddens me to know that the next time she comes, she will be a bit bigger and more grown-up. With this visit, she brought me the gift of a cold. That’s alright, I would not miss those little hands pressing my cheeks together for a kiss for anything. I will admit that getting a cold in the middle of a pandemic is a bit scary. I have routinely checked my temperature, as well as my sense of taste and smell. I'm also experiencing the Quarantine 15. Or, it could be the holidays starting to add up, take your pick. I have really enjoyed the #BNB12DaysofChristmas2020 that we have been running on both our Facebook and Instagram accounts in conjunction with other Bed & Breakfasts across the country. It has given us the opportunity to see more of our fellow innkeepers’ properties and what they have to offer. Dan and I look forward to visiting a few of them as well in 2021. A lot of work and creativity has gone into these postings, and I cannot take the credit for it. With all that has been going on, I really want to take this opportunity and introduce an important part of our team. Without her, our social media, website, and marketing efforts would be lacking for sure. April Nichols is a dear friend of mine who joined our team a few months ago. She and I used to work together in the hospitality industry, and she helped me through a lot of projects. Together we created some awesome spaces. All of the fancy posts that you see, along with the beautifully cropped photos, and the crafty words are all her. I pop in in the mornings and shoot her with a few grand ideas that I dreamed up, like the 12 days of Christmas, and she runs with it. I know she hates hearing the words “April, I have an idea” come out of my mouth, but she normally giggles and takes it in stride. She also helps us with our other businesses as well, and she is a great asset to our team. She makes us look and feel polished, and she allows Dan and me to focus on many other things that we have going on in our busy lives. I do not know how we have gotten along for as long as we have without her. So friends, when you see all of the pretties that we have on our website, our social media, and our printed items, know that it takes a team to do all that we do and that April is a key player on that team. Also, you will be seeing some blog posts written by her too in the near future. Happy Holidays Friends! Like everyone else, we are looking forward to a healthy and prosperous 2021.
