Looking for Helpers!

Hello My Friends!

When I was growing up, I watched a lot of Mr. Rogers. He was that soft voice in a sometimes harsh world as a child. These past months I have often reflected on two of my favorite quotes from him.

"There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind."

"Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

Several guests have been dealing with some heavy family things over the past few months while staying with us. For a few it was an ill parent and for others the death of a loved one. Dan and I have been able to help provide a place for them to step away and allow them to take a break from the hard moments that they were in.

When they were with us, we made sure that they got a morning meal to help fuel them through their day, a good night's rest, and we spent some time together helping them put light in a stressful situation, if only for a few minutes. Hugs and dessert at breakfast helped too.

A few had been past guests, seeking peace and refuge at a place they knew that they could call home. There have also been a few new ones who quickly understood the kindness, love, and warmth Dan and I have to offer as Innkeepers giving them a new place to call home.

So in this world full of craziness and uncertainty, please know that here at the Inns at 8th and Main, our home, is where you will always find kindness, help, and a level of hospitality that always feels like home.

Thank you Mr. Roger’s for being a light for me.

Innkeeper Amy
