Some mornings, I walk out to the patio with a hot cup of coffee in hand, and the sound that greets me isn’t birdsong—it’s the low rumble of a Harley rolling down Main Street. And I smile every time.

Over the past few years, we’ve hosted all kinds of travelers at The Inns at 8th and Main—romantic getaways, girls’ weekends, road-trippers. But there’s a special place in my heart for our motorcyclists. Whether you're chasing curves on the legendary Route 555 or planning a scenic ride through Ohio’s Windy 9, McConnelsville makes for the perfect home base—and I’m not just saying that because I love seeing leather jackets at breakfast.

Riding the Windy 9 and Route 555

Let’s start with the ride itself. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more thrilling, twisty, tree-lined routes than the famous Windy 9. Riders from all over the country come to Southeast Ohio to experience its scenic loops, rolling hills, and breathtaking overlooks.

One of the most beloved routes, Route 555—fondly nicknamed the "Triple Nickel"—is pure Ohio magic. It offers tight curves, surprising switchbacks, and the kind of winding freedom that fills your lungs and your spirit. These aren’t just roads—they’re journeys waiting to happen.

And when the ride ends, we’re here to welcome you back with a comfortable bed, historic charm, and a breakfast hearty enough to fuel another day’s adventure.

We’ve Thought About the Details—Because We Know They Matter

We understand that after a long day in the saddle, the little things mean a lot.

At The Inns at 8th and Main, you'll find easy off-street parking for your motorcycles and trailers, and plenty of space to regroup and relax. If you’re traveling with a group, our patio becomes the perfect gathering spot to swap stories from the road.

After check-in, most of our guests walk to dinner, grab a drink, or stretch their legs with a peaceful stroll along McConnelsville’s beautiful riverfront.

There’s nothing better than ending a perfect ride watching the sunset, cold drink in hand, laughter in the air. Some of our guests bring cigars for the porch and fully soak up the slow, golden evenings—and we’re all for it. We’ll even bring out the ice bucket and say cheers.

Why Riders Prefer Boutique B&Bs Over Hotels

Hotels may offer a place to sleep—but a real Bed and Breakfast offers a place to belong.

At The Inns at 8th and Main, you’re not just another reservation number. We know your name, your ride, and probably your favorite breakfast order by day two. Unlike hotels, we offer personalized hospitality, homemade meals, and a peaceful environment where you can truly unwind between rides.

Our guests often say it’s the little touches—the homemade cookies, the patio conversations, the extra hot coffee—that make all the difference. That’s the beauty of a boutique inn. That’s the spirit of not only The Inns at 8th and Main, but our beloved village, McConnesville.

A Word for My Lady Riders & Retirees

This one’s for the women who ride their own—and those who’ve waited their whole lives to finally feel the wind on their face. We see you.

Whether you’re cruising solo, riding with friends, or taking in the journey with a partner, there’s something deeply powerful about claiming your own open road.

We also host many retirees who tell us that getting back on the bike gave them a second chapter—a new sense of freedom, energy, and adventure. If that’s you, know that we’re cheering you on at every mile marker.

Come Ride and Stay a While

If you're planning a motorcycle trip through Ohio’s scenic byways this season, consider making McConnelsville your home base—and our patio your place to rest and recharge.

Whether you stay a night or linger for a few days, The Inns at 8th and Main offers the perfect balance of comfort, community, and small-town charm.

We’ll have a cozy bed ready, a hot breakfast waiting, and a porch light on—just for you. And if you're rolling in early? Text us. We'll put the coffee on.

Ride safe. Ride often. We'll see you soon.
