There’s something about Thanksgiving that especially tugs on the heartstrings. Maybe it’s the scent of pumpkin pie in the oven or the sound of football playing in the background. Perhaps it’s the Macy’s Parade on the TV, or the simple joy of lingering in pajamas with a hot cup of coffee while breakfast waits just a little bit longer.
For years, Thanksgiving meant a full house and a flurry of activity—our kids around the table, laughter in every corner, and the comforting chaos that comes with a big family holiday. But as life changes, so do traditions.
Now, as empty nesters, we’ve found ourselves in a new season—one where sometimes our children spend Thanksgiving with their in-laws, or are scattered too far to make the trip home. And you know what? That’s okay. We want them to create their own memories.
But we also know what it's like to be in that quiet house. So we started something special—Friends of The Inn Thanksgiving—a two-night stay that brings together guests who want to relax, feel at home, and share in the warmth of the holiday, whether they arrive solo, as a couple, or with a friend.
🍂 What to Expect This Thanksgiving at the Inn
Wednesday-Arrive and settle in with a warm welcome. That evening, we’ll point you toward the local favorites—enjoy a friendly pint at Old Bridge Brewing Co., chat with locals at The Chatterbox, or stroll the square and soak in the small-town charm.
Thursday-Sleep in (no alarms needed here), then enjoy a leisurely breakfast served with hot coffee and warm conversation. Watch the Macy’s Parade in your room or join us in the common space—blankets, slippers, and second cups of coffee encouraged. Afternoon football fans can munch on our signature Inn Charcuterie Board while the games play. And at 4:00 PM, we’ll gather around the table for a catered Thanksgiving dinner from Meyers Specialty Market, featuring all your favorites and none of the cleanup.
Whether you’re looking to take a break from hosting, want a place to just be, or don’t want to spend the day alone—we want you to know you’re welcome here.
Our door is open, the table is set, and the heart behind this tradition is simple: No one should feel alone on Thanksgiving. So stay with us. Let this little Inn in McConnelsville be your holiday home.
